In 2012, the Municipal Association of Victoria set up a street lighting materials tender panel to leverage the combined purchasing power of councils undertaking energy efficient street lighting changeovers. The panel has already seen councils save hundreds of thousands of dollars on purchasing lights and thousands of hours evaluating tenders. The panel is refreshed when prices or new technology is approved - such as LED lighting. What's more it is now open to every council in the state.

Ironbark has sought and obtained National Association of Testing Authorities (NATA) accreditation as an Inspection Body, which means that we have been assessed by NATA and found to comply with the requirements of ISO/IEC 17020 (the International Standard governing the requirements of inspection bodies) and to be technically competent to inspect street lights against those requirements of AS/NZS 1158.6 outlined in our Scope of Accreditation. Yep, another one! The City of Whittlesea has begun their energy efficient street lighting changeover. Council are changing a massive 6,900 street lights to more energy efficient alternatives that use 70% less energy, reducing greenhouse gas emissions and saving the community millions of dollars that can now be spent on more important services.
